At Bayshore Renovations, we take pride in our legacy of craftsmanship. As a third generation carpenter, with over 20 years of hands- on experience, Jake is continuing a family tradition of excellence. Jake’s grandfather owned a lumber yard, and while growing up his dad and grandfather built spec homes. Jake took to the construction industry early, learning his craft through his father at a young age. As a young teen, Jake was already anxious to find work of his own.
Jake began working construction in a pretty unique setting — the Adirondacks and along the lakes of upstate New York — at the young age of 16 for a company called Adirondack Designs. By the time he was 18, he had already become a trustworthy carpenter capable of working more independently.
Most of his early work focused on building what are known in upstate New York as “Great Camps.” Think gorgeous, sprawling custom homes with intricate details, boathouses, and guest houses along the lake shores. Landowners were often trying to outdo one another with the quality and uniqueness of their estates. These camps were always built with a high level of craftsmanship using a variety of design styles and materials — stone homes, log homes, and everything in between. Jake describes these homes as projects that would start but never truly end, often continuing for years as clients added more to their properties over time.
In the years that followed, Jake eventually branched out and joined two other companies: Tom Lamir Construction and Schoolhouse Renovations. Jake says the experience and knowledge he gained by working with different companies is what really taught him so much about the industry and helped round out his skills.
In 2012, Jake came to Washington State, chasing his love of the mountains and skiing, while also dreaming of starting his own business.
He began framing high-rise commercial buildings in Seattle for several years, gaining valuable commercial construction knowledge and experience before eventually starting his company, Bayshore Renovations, in Hoodsport, Washington.
Living in Leavenworth once seemed like a distant dream, but through some connections Jake landed a project for his team there. Everyone agreed to relocate for the job, but as they worked, more opportunities came along. Eventually the crew decided to move there permanently. Jake is proud to have kept his core team and added more skilled carpenters along the way.
Building is “fun,” as Jake puts it. He loves his work and takes pride in creating beautiful homes surrounded by the incredible scenery of Leavenworth, and the Wenatchee Valley.
